My days, though filled with much to do,
Are usually not my own,
And few are the moments afforded me
To reflect on the blessings I've known.
But when those fleeting moments come
And my mind has time to clear,
My first thoughts always are of the love
I am shown by my William, so dear.
His first thoughts are not of himself,
Though entitled to this he would be,
But rather his mind is focused on ways
He can best take care of me.
With no thought of the benefits
Or rewards his action brings,
He dutifully spends each unclaimed hour
Taking care of the little things.
The things I'm likely to forget
And the things I'd never think of,
The things that no one else would do,
Motivated only by love.
Faithfully he takes the time
To help me through my day
By phoning just to say hello
In his ever cheerful way.
And always my welfare is his concern,
Ahead of even his own,
And though apart, I've had his heart
And have never been alone.
And when my burdens seem too great
And my courage is all but gone,
He's always there with words of hope
And a shoulder to lean upon.
And patiently he waits his turn
Behind other time demands -
His turn to know the side of me
That makes him feel a man.
And though in jest the score's been kept
Of the times that he was "wrong,"
He surely must know that even so,
For me, he's been right all along.
How could I ever repay the debt
Of gratitude that's owed
For his selfless acts of kindness
That have helped to ease my load?
What could I say on this Valentine's Day
To make him know how much
I treasure my "Prince" and his love for me
And will always need his touch?
His touch in all the little things
That I've come to depend upon;
The touch of his strong hand in mine,
That tells me I'm never alone.
So blessed I am to know the joys
That because of him are mine,
And thankful to God I will always be
For Prince William, my Valentine.
Happy Valentine's Day, My Bill,
From Your "Princess"
Valentine's Day Poetry Examples
While stopping to smell the roses in life
Has many rewards, it's true,
On this day, following their petals instead
Will be MUCH more rewarding for you!
While their petals are soft and their fragrance sweet
And they bid you to stop and inhale,
You'll be glad you didn't take the time
When you get to the end of their trail.
Though it's tempting, I know, to stop as you go
And savor them in this array,
They cannot compare to what's waiting there
For you on this Valentine's Day!
